Since the Daisy Company has been making BB guns, and since then kids have considered owning one to be a right of passage. However, these air guns will occasionally need servicing.

Determine whether or not the trigger is working properly. You should be able to depress the trigger with very little pressure from your index finger. If the trigger sticks or does not move smoothly through its full range of motion, it needs oiling.

Place the Daisy BB gun onto some old newspaper or a shop rag as oil may leak during the lubrication process. Hold the rifle upside down to access the trigger area. Use a can of WD with a straw attachment on the nozzle to aim some lubricant into the trigger mechanism itself. Spray oil into the top portion of the trigger where it inserts into the cocking mechanism. Hold the gun upside down for 30 seconds and then flip it over to let excess oil run out.

Let the rifle dry for half an hour and then wipe the trigger area with a paper towel to ensure dryness. Pull the trigger through its full range of motion. Determine whether the cause of the jam came from improper feeding. This can happen if you turn the rifle on its side while a BB is in the firing position.

To load properly the gun needs to be held straight with a slightly raised muzzle. Ensure that the BB was not damaged shot. A flattened or scratched BB will often jam. Shot that is excessively dirty can also create a problem. Check to be sure the correct ammunition was used. Never try to shoot anything other than proper BBs or.

Daisy 880 Fix. 3 Main Seals Replaced.

Sounds like you have a busted or leaking seal. Try googling the manufacturer and see if you can contact or ask them. Comment Post Cancel. Check out the air valve and make sure that your O-rings haven't cracked. Depending on how much you paid for the air rifle, it might be cheaper to replace the whole thing than to fix it.

I just depends on what the component is, the quality of the gun to start with, and whether or not you can do the repairs yourself. Just something to keep in mind.

Had the same problem, it was cheaper to buy a new one. Don't waste your time with it if it's not under warrenty. Put oil on the seal. On some rifles, especially cheap ones, the seal or o rings will dry up and shrink, thus not holding air.

If you oil it, the seal absorbs it and enlargens, and holds the air. I would suggest just saving up and getting a good single shot spring loaded pellet rifle. Crosman, beeman, ruger and gamo all make good ones for a decent price. Check out bass pros website. Carefully disassemble the gun, then clean and lightly oil all parts.

This will make most air guns start working again. If not you can order a parts diagram online and order new seals, valves or any part. It's much cheaper to clean and repair old guns than discard and buy a new one.

It probably be better off to go get a new one. Marlin Model 60 or 39A or Ruger No excuse to have an air gun. Right Rail 1.Got a question? Got an answer? Log in, then enter your text. Will work but you have to turn the gusts onto it's side so the ball will fall into place. Yes if you load them single, like pellets. Probably from feeder also as feeder works for lead round ball.

No they would not work this rifle it has a magnetic tip on the bolt to hold the bb in place. They work best in guns with a spring loaded magazine or gravity feed. Yes a Daisy 4x rifle scopecomes with mounts. Well pulling the bolt back cocking is only about 5 pounds effort. No cocking effort is listed only says 2 to 10 pumps. As the number of pumps increase it takes more effort. I have four of these and they are very easy to pump. I got my first one when i was 13 and had no issues pumping it.

I don't hear it leaking air and I can leave it for a long time and the same "one pump" worth of pressure will be in it.

I've broken the thing down a dozen times. Everything looks nice and clean even the o-ring still look good but since they are very old I replaced them. It doesn't appear the air is leaking out the barrel or in that area, and the exhaust valve looked great so I didn't think it would be necessary to switch the valve out.

So far I have replaced the entire pump piston the o-ring on the chamber seal and properly oiled everything with Pellgun Oil. The price on that tiny little thing is killing me. The thing is it doesn't look bad at all so I have been hesitant to spend the money for a new one. Even the new o-ring and pump piston didn't look any different than the ones I replaced them with.

I could really use some advice to help me figure out why it wont build pressure. I thought I would hear it leak air as I pumped additional times but I don't.

I did the pump handle test and it never sank back down so I know its not leaking a bunch of air. Because it gets the pressure of one single pump it will fire but the BB sure doesn't go far ha ha.

Well I hate to say it but that big rubber thing that costs so much is your problem. It acts as a check valve in the The can look fine but not hold the air in the valve anymore. You probably feel back pressure on the pump arm when you try to pump more air in. There should be no significant back pressure, if that big rubber thing is doing it's job.

Before you give it all up and buy one try this: take out the one you have a boil it in water for an hour or so. Let it rest for a day or two. Put it back in and see if it "remembered" it's original shape. I've never tried this but I have thought of trying it when I run out of new ones I have kept all the old ones I took out, just in case.

That is what I feared Fuse.

It's is the one thing I have left to try I think at this point. I have replaced all the orings and it looks clean no gunk or corrosion I don't hear air leak when I put pressure on the handle and it bounces back from what little pressure that is there.

Every additional pump builds no new pressure. I dont need anything else but that little rubber cup.Its amazing how people suggest throwing out something over a minor problem. I have repaired mine many times. Some seals can be repaired with teflon tape, as long as they are fixed, not sliding, like the one on the piston. When you pump it, the air goes through a one way valve, then is trapped in an air chamber.

If it leaks out the barrel, the second valve that holds the pressure back is not sealing. Open it, find it, clean it up, reasemble and oil well.

This may fix it. It has for me. You have a o-ring and a leather patch in the pump to hold the pressure and the either dried out or just has a leak. You have to cock it and load either a pellet or bb before you can pump it.

I believe that the way it was designed was so you don't pump it and then forget about pumping it and pump it up again. Assuming the air rifle is in good mechanical condition, you failed to read and follow the instructions contained in the Owner's Manual.

Otherwise, the rifle has a part that is defective or worn out. Contact Daisy's customer service department to learn more about possible repair or replacement.
