Everything audio unless DIY that has opamps uses the andunless its an opamp for servo duties, different story there. Industry manufacturing standard and very cheap to buy in bulk from Texas Instruments. There may be more modern opamps these days that have better specs, but these original opamps in the right design just sound nice. I have heard that there may be somes fakes around. G'day all, listening to my P06 in here with NE's installed of late, it seems to me that if the NE has a 'sound' about it, it is neutral, completely uncoloured and clean.

Looking at the circuit diagrams for the amps NE's were everywhere and they sounded clean and distortion free as professional distribution amps in that application should have, and that's fine for 'hi fi' too!
